Nineteen years ago, Alan, a knight of Velthomer stumbled upon a young pregnant noblewoman. Upon discovering she wasn't married, he gallantly extended his hand, offering to "make an honest woman of her" (he was a rather sexist man) and help raise her baby. But Lady Serena was a proud and stubborn woman who saw his offer as pity, and coldly rejected him. She was a lady of House White, a house with a proud tradition of turning out strong and capable women, women who knew what they wanted and how to get it. Even though her baby was technically a Velthomer, Serena intended to raise her as a White.

Undeterred, Alan asked her several times more, Serena only relenting in a moment of fatigue and desperation. But even then she only agreed to marry him for the sake of her child; if something happened to her, she didn't want her child to grow up without a strong or at least decent parental figure.

Three months later, a daughter was born to the newlyweds. It was a rough, strenuous labor that nearly killed Lady Serena and rendered her unable to have more children. The girl carried the mark of the Fala bloodline and had her mother's eyes. They named her Sheila.

Lady Serena went right ahead with her plan to raise Sheila as she herself was. Sheila grew up under the iron-fisted care of her mother, who groomed her to be the perfect blend of Velthomer's status and White's strength, and the materialism of her father, who spoiled her with the finest things a girl could ask for.

When the fighting between the support factions for each of Finn Velthomer's children, the position Serena and Sheila had been fighting for was in jeopardy. Sheila knew one slip-up could ruin her chances, and thus doubled her efforts to make sure she won.

Sheila is a spoiled, stuck-up prat of a woman who will stop at nothing to get what she wants. Lying, trickery, hurting other people, manipulation, you name it. In some ways, she still resembles a bratty young girl, albiet in a dignified sort of way.

To the public, she appears charming and sophisticated. She's well-liked and popular with the citizens, who also hold a large degree of respect for Lady Serena.

The fact that her parents were never able to have more children pleases her to the core. Even the knowledge that she has siblings living nearby her upsets her, at least she doesn't have any living in her house.

Sheila knows that only her bloodline prevents her from being a bastard child, that given her parents' marriage of convenience the situation could have easily been a scandal, a poor unfortunate noble twit knocked up by a stranger and rescued by a foolish knight. She knows her fate could have been a harsher one, and does everything she can to cling to the reality she knows, that people are fighting for her to become ruler of Velthomer.

Underneath it all, Sheila White is simply a warped, insecure little girl who wants to be important. And if manipulating people is the best way, the only way to get what she wants, then so be it.

Sheila also has a deep fear of horses, which stems from...nothing at all. They just scare the bejezus out of her, plain and simple.

Oh, and she's obsessed with keeping her things in top condition.
